Evening Glitter

Evening Glitter 24"x 32" For Sale on Etsy

Evening Glitter is one of the medium sized paintings I made for the William Woods Exhibit. These are colors I rarely use together, but because I  gave myself this focus of working with cool winter colors, this group of paintings evolved and it was a great chance to stretch my creative muscles.. It was also fun working with cool colors during the heat of summer! In the top portion there are little tiny circles that I stenciled in with Wood Icing and then painted silver to make them stand out on the evening sky. Below, on the white areas, there is a hint of green gold that I am in love with and an accent of silver on the tops of the white ledges. This painting gives me butterflies every time I look at it because, for me, it captures that magical moment when light snow is falling in the midnight sky and all you can see is glitter falling in the reflection of the moonlight. Takes my breath away thinking about it. Nature is truly inspiring.
