Shades of Happy

Shades of Happy
48"x8"
SOLD
Remember those five paintings that sat neglected on my easel for way too long? Well this is the second to last one I have to show you. This is one of those that I have kind of fell in love with personally. Probably because it fell into place so easily and because it represents my re-acquaintance with happiness....again.

Using paint and color as my language, Shades of Happy defines different ways of expressing varying types of happiness. Happy seems like such simple word but there are so many amazing facets to experience. For me, yellow happy is energetic and sunny, blue happy is content and peaceful, green happy is clean, growing and productive and rusty orange happy is passionate bliss.

Shades of Happy
Detail
I have included a detail of the painting because I wanted to show you all the different colors and textures that exist within each section of the painting. I love when various colors emerge from behind other colors. It emphasizes how things are not so simple and clear cut once you look at them more closely. For instance, in the blue section, being content is still accompanied by a little passion, sunny thoughts, and personal growth. I could go on and on, but why don't you look closely and try to interpret it your own way. My mom sees waterfalls.

Don't forget about the Mary Beth Shaw's give away on my previous blog entry. You have until tomorrow!
